UC seems to be gone cured after brush with death, Imuran would have killed me.

For give my mistakes but I am still recovering from death, I see things a new I wanted warn all of you here.

I am still in early recovery mode, I was almost dead., but getting back to health. I can barely type but I wanted to give hope to others. After battleing bleeding for years, in Dec I became very ill a non stop fever. Well Dr. money man said you should go in inmuran. I said no I am going to hold on and try natural and family doctor. My sister is a RN and said no this is more than UC, I was eating and still losing weight, by lasst for almost 2 months Fed I was in emergency. My sister still commands respec with my family doctor and the rest of the hospital. I was colse to death my blood levels were that of a half they shoud be.

I as basically out of it and on a million antibiotics, all normla bowel flora was dead said my fam doctor, that stuck in my head. antibiotics. I had a red blotches on my face (parasites) my natural doctor said. They had to clue, I was given 2 blood transfusion to keep it from dropping. Lost prayers where thrown to me. Finally after umteen stool test the problem was found a super bacteria was in my stool (this is what was written on the paper handed to me (VRE Entrococcus Vancomy resistant bacteria Enterococcus fecalias) I'm no doctor but thaa I what I seen, I am still afraid to look it up in the net,bitter sweet news as the only that that would even touch it was FLAGYL, ORAL. When it died off I became delieriuos because of the toxinx but not I was begiining to gain stregth. I now began to eat burgers, pizza, everything I was deinied and it was needed to build my blood plasma back to normal. I was down to 8 from a normal 15 I believe. I actually don't know if the bacteria is dead for sure, but to go by sypmtoms, which is a scary thought

We surmized this bacteria was in my bowels for some time just enough to cause UC, until it it reached critical mass in when I was in a weekend state from a stressful day.

My RN sister and my Gen doctors and my herbalist saved my life, my so called speicalist would and killed me with imuran with this bacteria in my bowels. I am still recover weak and have gotten sleeping done, but prayers , love, and a persisten RN sister and GOD almigy saved my life.

Your UC could be a dormant bactera, make you doctors do stoll test over and over, something may be in thing waiting for, I learned that bacteria have a way to know when they have enough to launch a critical attack, until then they will lie dormant and irritate.

So far I am eating pizza, burgers, greasey foods to build by blood levels back, no problems so far thank God in Heaven and this event showed me how he can use another suffering to help others, but that is more info that I should share.
My GI would have given Imuran and killed no doubt with that bacterium present.
I was blessed with a Christan up bringing, a RN sister who took care of me, and a Gen oldtime Docter who tried so hard and found the cause of all my problems.
I think God the most, my faith help me through it.


Being med free and eating any thing was is so great I pig out of greasy burgers, pizza, everything, I was told to eve to build my blood plasma back!

You might want to try fecal transplantation to repopulate your colon with normal colon bacteria. I did it with great success on my own using my granddaughter's poo. Here's a link for more information:

Why would we delete this Zippy? You did nothing wrong. In fact, I am glad you came and told us your story. So are you at home now? I'm glad you are feeling better. Sounds like a scary ride!

about your GI doc and Imuran. Like the old saying goes: "When you own a hammer everything looks like a nail." You are indeed blessed to have an RN sister looking out for you. Many other relatives making decisions when you could not would have accepted the GI docs word as law and you would have been in big trouble.

I also had 7.8 blood count and had to get a transfusion. I kept telling the doctors I was losing a lot of blood but no one took me seriously until my PCP ran a test and got hysterical. Calling me up and almost yelling "You've got to go to the hospital. You've got to go to the hospital." My blood loss was due to a combo of UC and a fibroid (female issue).

I hope your killer bacteria is gone but as another has said you need to re-populate with good bacteria. Hope you can get some probiotics in you. Best wishes on your recovery.

I also took iron pills afterwards but you (if male) need to be careful with them. Iron can be more toxic to men. It takes a long time to build iron back up through food and pills.

Sorry Zippy i dont understand how did they kill the bacteria?

I am happy to hear you're feeling better and that your UC is cured! I always thought I had a bacterial but Flagyl didn't cure me. I woul dlke to try vancomyacin but I don't think they would let me try it without a positive for c. diff. i would try anything, I hate taking all these drugs.

Why do you think imuran would have killed you?

Holy cow Zippy. What a story. The bio nerd in me made me go read about it and it sounds extremely dangerous. Hopefully it's completely wiped out!
I agree with Q. Make sure you're keeping tabs on it. You don't want it to come back mutated and stronger.
