Anyone using Canasa/Salofalk in Canada

Does anyone use Canasa in Canada? I was using it in the US and it was sold as Canasa and was not a generic, but I am told that in Canada what is sold as Canasa in the US is sold as Salofalk.

Is Salofalk the same as Canasa, or is it a generic?

Does anyone here use Salofalk and does it have the same effect as Canasa?

I use Salofalk and from what I know it is the same as canasa. It is not a generic med.

Salofalk, to the best of my knowledge is the same as Canasa - mine are 4g of mesalamine rectal retention enema.

the one difference you may find is the bottle type/ nozzle. based on previous threads on this forum, my impression is that the bottle may be different.

I think Quincy has also mentioned that they come in 2g as well but my doc. automatically put me on 4g when I requested them.

Yes, for sure. I have them.

I can't afford Canasa in the U.S. so I order Salofalk from Canada. Both are manufactured by Axcan Pharma. It's possible to get generic Salofalk on some of the online Canadian rx websites so I recommend checking the manufacturer before ordering. Unless you're ok with it in generic, I'm not so I make sure I get Axcan.
