I'm going to assume that you have tried managing your UC with traditional therapy as well. I know that smoking can be effective at ameliorating UC but the side effects/risk factors of cigarette smoking is off the charts. It sounds like you understand that or would not be trying to quit. I would really consider getting on another form of therapy before quitting entirely, so you have another source of managing your remission. If you're looking for non traditional forms of therapy that have worked for people, there are a lot of different examples on this forum. From sunflower seeds/spinach diets to fecal transplantation (and everything inbetween), you'll find it on this forum.
