hi, thanks for welcoming me to the forum there is a lot of helpful information in here, as for quincy and your question my colitis showed mainly to be on the left side but shows some inflammation througout the transverse colon which is why my gi called it pancolitis(hope my medical explanation is accurate i am still trying to soak in the vast information available about uc)....I am taking tylenol cold and flu because at first i thought i was catching the flu but had no fever, just aches and pains and allergy type symptoms. I know we uc patients should avoid ovc anti inflammatories for aches and pains, thats about all they told me about as far as ovc meds for minor discomforts or colds. The asacol hd is seeming to calm the flare (blood and diaherrea) minimal now after two weeks but my immune system seems to be upset, these aches and stiffness which feel like i would guess, arthritis, are harder to deal with then the flare itself,,i will talk to my gi about the 5-asa enemas as you suggested, currently i am looking around for reputable gi's who have a more diverse approach to treating uc, my current gi is great, but only believes in strong drugs!
