i was first put on 30 mg of prednisone in march it helped completely, every 2 weeks my doctor has told me to lower the dose by 5 mg. Now on 15 mg i am sick again. Now i can barely move my wrist, it hurts to type this right now. My whole body is in pain again. Is the prednisone causing my wrists to feel so sore?

It is completely possible that it is. Many people have joint pain while on prednisone. Are your UC symptoms under control?

the worst pain ever for me was tapering off pred then being off of it. Let your Doc know.

I know how awful it feels and I will hopefully be off of it soon and can't wait to be off pred but dreading the pain.

I may have to go see an endocrineologist (sp?)

my symptoms were under control for about a month, but not at all anymore.

Beth how long after being off Pred did u still feel pain for?

I hate prednisone !! Makes me moody achey bones n joints. N doesnt worknever!! But others it works.

Inflammation with or without prednisone can cause joint pain. I hope you are able to get back on track quickly. Have you spoken to your GI about adding maintenence meds?
