I'm wondering if anyone on here who is on 5ASA's have used and had any problems using a topic anti- inflammatory (such as Volteran).
I'm dealing with a stubborn shoulder tendinitis and seeing we can't use NSAIDS, I've been using this gel. In fine print is says it can still have similar effects to NSAIDS but pharmacist says as a topical cream it is a lot less likely to cause problems.
I've just regained remission in past few month and would hate for this to cause problems. Has anyone used this and how did you tolerate it?
Thanks

I would have no problem using them...at least they're not metabolised via the gastro tract, which to me can lessen the contraindications.
I have used it on occasion, but maybe worth me to use it every morning for my sore back..maybe better than taking a back relief pill.
I think I will. Keep you posted.

I did fine on Voltaren gel Uc wise. It did not bother me in the least - however, it didn't help for very long to help control the pain in my hands.

It is definitely giving me some relief with the shoulder which is great and much appreciated. It is giving me the chance to let the physio do it's work which is good. So far no side-effects noticed UC wise (thank goodness!)
Now, if only I could use it on migrains.. lol !
Thanks for the feedback!

I am in the same boat, I strained my UCL and RCL in my elbow and the Dr. recommended Ibuprofen, however, I didn't want to take a chance due to my Colitis. I am just using Rest, Ice and Compression.

I use Voltaren gel and or Flector patches, with the voltaren gel it took about
a month for it to help but it finally did and now I just need it occasionally.
