My daughters GI said there is a, yet to be published, study from Austria showing that Human Probiotic Infusion given to people with severe disease made them very sick.
Please ask your GI:
Who did the study?
Who was being treated? Did they have C-diff, Chron's, UC, or something else?
Did it help reduce their colon inflammation?
When you say very sick, what do you mean?
What severe disease did they have?
How much Human Probiotic Infusion did they use?
What was the procedure they followed?
The way this sounds is that when Human Probiotic Infusion is given to someone who has a severe disease, then it makes them very sick. I had a very serious flare in which my GI said my colon felt like dog meat. The whole colon was inflamed, and I was peeing out brown liquid out my butt, passing a ton of blood clots, and pred dependent. Fecal transplantation put me into remission immediately. It did not make me even a tiny bit sick. So when you say "severe disease," I have to ask do you mean UC or something else? If you mean UC, then I can prove that wrong because it didn't make me in the least bit sick. If you mean some other disease, then it might depend on the disease.
I used about
1 syringe worth each time I did it.

She is weaning from 40mg Prednisone, now on 10mg, and trying to decide if it is time to schedule surgery. After 8 months on 5 mg/kg, she had her 3rd infusion of Remicade at 10mg/kg and Imuran at 175mg/day, plus she is on Steroid Enemas.
We all know what steroids and Remicade can do.
