Update: Blood results and Colonoscopy and Endoscopy May 20

Hi everyone!

The results of my blood test came back clear of inflamatory diseases such as UC.

However, I am still having blood in the stool every day. I only go one or two times

daily and it is not D - my stools are all formed, but with some blood, passing of mucas and

blood clots. Now I am really scared because the bloodwork all came back negative. (I'm a 34 year old female by the way).

I am currently not on any medications for anything until I get my official diagnosis after the colonoscopy and endoscopy.

The doctor is going to do both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy this coming Friday

(the 20th). Never been through either of those ... in fact, I have never had any procedures

done medically except for a CT Scan of the abdomen. Never been put out or anything

before so I am petrified of course! Not only through procedures, but the entire outcome

as well.

I have been reading that lots of people's bloodwork come back negative for inflamatory diseases, but the colonoscopy finds that the person has that anyways.

I've been reading lots of information here that you guys all post and it's been most helpful.

Yeah, unfortunately the blood work isn't 100% of the picture. My blood work comes back normal even when I have mild but visible inflammation. So, hang in there until your scope!

Yes this does happen, unfortunately my c reactive , sed rate etc all came back normal as well and when I was in the midst of bad flare while being hospitalized. Hope you find the right meds to get you in remission quickly. My cat scan also was normal and the very next day the c scope showed pancolitis.

Brandy, please don't get too nervous about the colonoscopy. I was very upset beforehand, but it was just fine. I assume they're giving you general anesthesia? That's what I had, and there was absolutely *no* pain at all from the procedure. I think the most difficult part is the prep beforehand, but as long as you like Jell-O it won't be so bad either cool. Is your Dr. having you do the Miralax + Gatorade prep?

BBC - Wow ... that is something that the blood work came back negative for you as well and yet the scope found that there was indeed something like that! Perhaps mine will too. How was your c-scope experience?

NovaGal - They are giving me the twilight sedation for my procedures. Never experienced that at all, so I don't know what to expect! My prep is actually the halflytely prep. I don't mix it with gatorade at all.

Scopes were all fine but I always made sure they used a baby scope and always requested the less groggy form of twilight (propofol).

My GI diagnosed my pancolitis as mild from his visual assessment but the pathology came back as moderate to severe at the time.

Good luck it will all go smoothly.
