I heard some folks put clothes on the ground around the church/compound so they would see it as evidence of the rapture. I have to admit that was funny.
I also saw a journalist for the New Republic (I think) couldn't take the schadenfreude (sp?) and didn't go cover the story last night because she didn't like the "let's watch them react at 6:00PM when we're still here and they 'get theirs'" mentality of the journalists. I thought that was an interesting story.

One need not fear the rapture unless they believe in nothing. Read the Case for Christ and The Case for Creator. Until a doubter has, they have no opinion.
If you like apologetics books you should look up "The Resurrection of the Son of God" by NT Wright. It's about
800 pages and extremely tedious, but well worth the effort. No book on either side comes close to it. He released Simply Christian later, which is basically a summary of the other book and just as good and a much quicker read.
