I had a colonoscopy done in Oct. 2010 Post Op Diagnosis stated: congested mucosa found in the cecum, erythematous mucosa found in rectum, and mild diverticulosis. The lab results came back stating I had severe Proctitis. My GI wanted to do a flex sig to take another look. I had the flex sig and during the whole procedure she kept saying impressive. My lab results came back with chronic. My GI put me on Rowasa enemas for six weeks and Asacol 6 pills a day for two weeks. After two weeks, I was supposed to take 4 Asacol a day. Everything was getting better. My last appointment in March she didn't give me a refill on the enemas, but said to keep taking the Asacol. She said it's all the same thing and she was trying to decide if I was a long term user or short. She said she wanted to make sure mines stayed limited to the rectum and not spread throughout the colon. She told me to come back in three months (July).
I was doing okay until the end of April. I started getting constipated like before, some cramping and having lots of gas. I just overlooked it, because I was like I'm taking these Asacol. Then, I started seeing blood mixed in my BM sometimes. It wasn’t all the time so I thought.... okay I don’t want to overreact. Now, whenever I pass gas mucous & blood comes out. I have never experience this before. Whenever I have a BM now it always with mucous & blood mixed in. I get tired real easily too. This is still so new to me. I don’t know if I should be concerned and call the Dr. or just wait until my next appointment.
I guess I’m trying to reason and wish all this away.lol
