I think Im in remission. I had a weird thing happen a month ago but I came back from it in 3 days.. before that I was having wellformed stool for 8 months with no blood or urgency as long as I adhered to a diet.
So, remission, yes.. I want to cure this tho.
I think it can be cured.
Here is my story and you can do with it what you will.
I wont go all the way back.. but just to this last flare. I was given antibiotics and 3 weeks later I started flaring, that flare lasted for over a year. I lost 70 lbs (I was overweight.. 5'4" and 190 lbs, and Ive gained back 10 since I hit remission.. which is perfect for me and I have no problem maintaining the weight.)
I didnt have cdiff and Ive been down all the GI roads but biologics so I did the following
1. Went Low Fodmaps
2. Started giving myself enemas. I had D, but it was due to bacteria, inflammaed and infected spots not alot of peristalsis. I have alot of proctitis issues.
With the enemas I started with bottled alkaline water, because Im lucky and have access to it cheaply.. then I added a little collodial to the water. But the times when I would sit on the toilet and my bottom would just drip what I can only describe as infection.. I had to do a very gentle castile cleansing enema, followed by a sterile water flush. Eventually I moved on to doing just a probiotic retention enema a couple times a week for another 6ish weeks
I probably had to keep up with the first protocol of enemas for about
6 weeks , every other day.
That treatment is what helped my lining start to heal and calmed down the inflammation.. kinda like pouring peroxide on a wound, and slathering on some neosporin. The food was huge though.. I could have done all the enemas in the world but if I was still eating food that was feeding the bad bugs I dont think it would have helped as much.
Anyway, that is my experience.
