I think these are reasonable requests, too. I will try to abide.

As for the search function, I do try to use it. I would appreciate if people would keep us updated about their progress or the resolution of the situation discussed in their posts. I find it so frustrating when I search and a thread just ends without knowing how things worked out. For example, I do a search on a particular supplement and find a thread where someone else asks about it. They say they are going to try it but then never write back to say whether it helped or not.

And, of course, our situations all feel so different, that we are tempted to ask the same questions over and over. I agree, this will probably never end even with the use of the search function.

I have to chuckle a little that I may have been the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. Quincy was an active responder to a recent post I had and there was some, ah, confusion about whether or not I answered a question she posted, which I did, there just seemed to be a delay in how the posts appeared. So, sorry Quincy, if that set you off, and I appreciate you clearing that up with me.

Here's a question along the same vein: if someone asks you a question, about say, extra meds or supplements, but this is clearly stated in my signature, can I be slightly annoyed at having been asked that question? I do see the relevance at keeping one's signature accurate, and I realize they do get kind of lengthy, so maybe I should just shut up.

I hear all of you on using the search feature, however, sometimes the results are posts several years old and its hard to tell if the info is still accurate/current.

Overall, definitely valid points about making posts as easy to read as possible. I will definitely keep the paragraph concept in my head.

Regarding using the search function to find information: I think some people need emotional support and assurance as well as information. That's part of the reason for starting a thread

I think this is a very true statement. We are all in need of support or we wouldn't be here. It is very hard to write such personal information with the fear that you will be corrected for your spelling or too many sentences or CAPS USED. Not saying that has happened but I for one will respond to anyone's post regardless of how it is presented if that person is sincere in their words.

There has been a little jumping of the gun lately when first time posters wrote about how they/spouse got remission by calling it spam. Twice in the last 10 days IIRC. If you think it's spam ignore it but it's not polite to respond with that epithet. It would have made me flee immediately if such a response was given.

Not everyone is a gifted writer who can explain what their question is in a few well-edited sentences. Sometimes the person that responds first is able to tweak their post to get to the real question. Just like a real conversation, some people are very long-winded and take forever to get to the point (I had a sister-inlaw like that once). My grandmother and her sister would have hours of conversations with very few words because they had a shared history, funny to watch.

I agree wholeheartedly that people should answer a question when they've been responded to. Not to do so is rude when someone has taken the time to respond. But many people aren't good readers (I am guilty of speed-reading). If they don't answer I stop responding.

All understandable requests. Personally, I've always appreciated your honest replies.

With regards to searching for commonly asked questions, what I've appreciated most about this forum is being able to ask my own question, pertinent to what's happening to me, and to get personalized responses. I think it's the beauty of this wonderful community, where we feel understood and cared for. I'm sorry if I've asked something that has been answered already.
