Steroids

Well, I stay in remission except for an occasional mild proctitis inflammation. I can't use mesalamine, so I end up using hydrocortisone suppositories. They clear the minor inflammation up in a few days, but send my blood sugar up 20 points. Sometimes we just can't win no matter what we do, can we?

Try a chromium supplements when taking steroids

Sorry to read that you still have some proctitus issues, etc., Judy. Are you able to use Cortifoam? (Just wondering if it would have less effect on blood sugar than sups.) In any case, it's always great to have you back here on the UC forum because you bring a special wisdom & sense of humor. / Old Hat (30 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
