hey Ladies.  i just had a swab done and i have an infection down below that requires flagyl for treatment.  is it ok to take antibiotics with UC.  i remember reading that it can cause problems in the bowel. is that true.  i read sumthing like it causes cdiff????  not sure whether to take them or ride it out.

Flagyl is sometimes used for treatment in C.diff and/or Uc complications. Do you have a yeast infection? I found that one dose of Diflucan works great for it. But definitely don't ride out any infection "down there". It can make matters worse.

hmm when i was in the hospital last month, the doctors had me on flagyl and some other antibiotic to help my u.c.

Flagyl is what causes UC in a few people.. =/ Do you have more natural stuff for it over there? like in NZ we have a drink thats kinda like baking soda (but doesnt taste bad) but changes the pH level down there? Sorry lol i dont really know how to explain it but i would try to stay away from flagyl. I used it before my fecal transplant and it really knocked me around and made my UC worse. Luckily the fecal transplant worked!!

Not sure what kind of infection you have but there are some that. can be treated with a cream you use down there. I used it for something I can't spell, lol, the regulsr treatment is a slow release flaygyl, which doesn't work with ileos. It took longer to cure but the cream did work. And when I had uc, flagyl was the only thing I could take

If it's not life-threatening, then I'd try alternative treatments first. I've gotten infections down there a lot. They go away on their own. Just be sure to keep the area very clean. Take some salt baths.

I once had this skin inflammation down there when I was 18 that was extremely painful. It grew to be about 3" by 2" in two to three days. I still remember it. It was very painful, and I couldn't walk right. I went to the gynecologist who said he didn't know what it was and had never seen anything like it before. He drained it. He did not prescribe antibiotics. It healed on its own.

Its for BV (bacterial vaginosis?).  i asked for a dose of diflucan along with it to keep the other demon thrush away.  came out of the pharmacy with a huge bag full of stuff.  had my months supply of uc drugs aswell to get.  eyes thanks for replys.    does any of yous know a natural remedy for BV? never heard of that baking soda drink either.
