love them both, apples more so than cider. I'm just not much of a juice fan, although it doesn't seem to upset my UC any more than anything else. I eat apples frequently though, I peel them. Apples contain butyrate too, which is proven to reduce the colon cancer risk. As well as tons of soluble fiber, which slows transit time. I say, eat up! You can even bake them, if "raw" fruit is too much- make applesauce, make apple crisp w/honey or maple syrup & an oatmeal topping, make apple pie, bake the apple plain...
