I might be late but I have UC and each time I have bright red discharge on my TP it's been from hemmroids that my Colo-rectal doc was able to take care of it.

I honestly don't want to start an argument because I'm sure a lot of us have a great gastro-doctor...but if you have UC proctitis or Crohns in your lower bowel, than I would recommend a colon-rectal doctor...they are specialized in that area. I've seen two colon-rectal doctors in two different cities I've lived in and each has been much more effective than the gastro. Just my opinion and I'm sorry if I offended anyone

It's a good suggestion, it's a "crap"shoot as to diagnosis and if the doctor goes beyond the obvious or not.

You also have questions asked by another member related to your initial post on the forum. Just FYI. Nice to answer questions as well as give suggestions.

My daughter is still having some D. It's not bad - perhaps 3-4 times a day but some days she only goes once but hardly is it ever solid. She hasn't seen blood in a few days

She seen the GI and he had her do a stool test. Two of the four were negative (Cdiff and some other bacterial one) came out negative and right now we are waiting for the results of the other two. If those come out normal and if my daughter is still having issues, the GI is going to do a c-scope. Rectal exam at the time of the appt found some hemmies but no blood was found - occult or frank, which is good! :)

i would get her check for Ulcerative Colitis if it keep on my son is 19 and he was doing the same thing and we had him test and it come back he had ulcerative colitis . will be praying for you all...
