severe pain takedown postop?

My 10-year-old son is having severe cramping pain with his first poops after takedown today, too much like battling UC several months ago. The poop is pudding-like, where I expected watery with the j-pouch.

Can anyone comment on this UC-level pain a day after takedown surgery? Should the first poops be that solid?

The surgical team seemed obsessed with getting him home 2 days after surgery, and took him off morphine too soon, I think.

aragorn, I am sorry to hear about your son's problems. Unfortunately, this board is mostly UC patients who are trying to treat with medication. There are a handful of members who have had surgery but definitely not the majority. I think you would get more response if you post on the ostomy section:
