flex sig in two weeks

Dr. just want to check to see if I have any inflammation before starting a family. It has been over 10 years since I had one. Does it hurt?

Beth, it is uncomfortable but it's a quick procedure. My last sigmoidoscopy only lasted a few minutes. The less irritated you are, the less discomfort. I had inflammation last time and I felt very gassy and bloated throughout the procedure.

Hi,

The first flex sig I had was very uncomfortable but I had inflammation just like Notsosickly girl. I couldn't wait for it to be over with. My second one I had in August was a breeze. No discomfort whatsoever. I didn't have any inflammation either.

Hi,
I also agree...uncomfortable but tolerable. Let us know how it goes and try relax during the procedure.
