Hi guys thanks for all your support and comments from my last post

I have the results.

their findings are: colitis (mild) only in the rectum. they passed the tube up to the terminal ileum and they did not see anything. the only thing they did see is slight redness in the rectum . so he said it didn’t look bad.

Doesn’t mean i have succeeded in cueing myself though. I did try. I now have to think about what to do.

At present im thinking about doing the half med and diet thing.

The doctor said i could just nock out the mild inflammation with the suppositories and i really didn’t need any thing else. It is only at the base of the rectum.

 

Well that is it. They took biopsies all over my colon. So now im getting some bleeding. They said I would.

Well that doesn't sound too bad. Using the rectal meds sounds like a good idea. From what I've read on here, they can help keep things from spreading and getting worse.

Canasa is a godsend for me. Great for low inflammation. Easy to use. I highly recommend it.

That sounds great hellokitty. There are people on this forum that only use rectal meds, no oral Rx, and are in remission. IMO mesalamine enemas are very beneficial but you may need to experiment between the suppositories and the retention enemas to find what is best for you.

Hope your biopsies are good as well.

Seeing very little inflammation is very good from a scientific point of view but don't get discouraged if your symptoms still pop up. My c-scopes never showed a huge amount of inflammation but my symptoms were terrible (until becoming successful with diet modification). Doctors treat what they can see but we UC'ers have to treat how we feel based on how bad our symptoms are with other means including diet modification.

I have finally been able to start eating some foods that were removed almost 2 years ago. I keep trying with ice cream but that seems like a permanent "no" with my colon. :-( I count my blessings when I see or hear of people with worse diseases.

I agree with the others. Sounds like you're doing well. I bet Canasa or Rowasa would help get rid of the mild inflammation in the rectum.

Definitely a good plan....if you do the supps, please consider at the very least, use them twice daily.

Congratulations! Looking forward to the biopsies results...get a copy!
