I just read an article that mentioned there were several Phase-III trials of bone-marrow derived stem cells for the CURE of IBD.

Has anyone heard of these, seen them advertised, or know someone who participated?

Look up the work of Dr Richard Burt at Nothwestern university. He's been carrying out SCTs for AI diseases for years now and has had good success.. I believe they're currently in clinical trials but the transplants are available as and end stage treatment for CD (as opposed to UC, for which there is a "cure"). I PRAY that this will be the answer in the relatively near future, but likely it will take years to become more accessible. Do you have a link to the article?

Yes funding that was completely cut by the former american president. Who knows where we'd be if that hadn't happened. Dr Burt actually moved his lab to Brazil at that point and thankfully continued to research there. He's helped hundreds of people with CD, Lupus, MS etc. It is so infuriating, but no point in dwelling on it I guess...

There are trials underway in the US. I hope good results are reported.

interesting. their site seem more aimed at investors, but it does sound like the work is fairly far along

Our local VA hospital is running the Multistem trial, and I am in the patient-recruitment process right now. I will have to make it through the screening first, and even if I do, there is a 50-50 possibility that I'll get the placebo.

If I don't get selected, I am looking at LDN or a fecal transplant.

Some time needed to finish Phase II trials. Seems to be a rolling recruitment rather than all at once.

Then some time for Phase III trials and any remaining aspects of approval/review process.

How many years would tis normally be?

huh? tell them you want the real stuff not the placebo.

Wow Miagi. I am always thankful for people who are openminded to doing these trials because they make it possible for new drugs to get approved for the masses. Unfortunately this trials is not available in my city, not even in my state it appears :(

Best of luck to you. Please keep me updated on how it goes. I hope you get the real thing and not the placebo. Often, if you get the placebo, they will let you try the real drug after you have completed the trial. Ask them.

Thank you for participating in the trial. I always keep my eyes peeled for trials but nothing really exciting is being offered locally.
