Perusing the medical literature concerning ulcerative colitis, one might easily come across such titles as "Risk Factors For Low Bone Mass In Patients With Ulcerative Colitis Following Ileal Pouch-Anal Anastomosis" or "Severe Complications Of Inflamatory Bowel Disease". The production of such arcania is typical of a thriving gastroenterological practice. On being wheeled on the gurney into my last scoping, my gastroenterologist requested my permission to include his findings in a research study the purpose of which kept eluding me as I became progressively more fogged by the combination of Versed and Demorol they were injecting into me. But what about
the more commonplace? Must this research always take place from above? Can't it begin from the vantage-point of the patient? I think it can.
Therefore, might I propose that we see in this forum a resource for the examination of more mundane questions. Might I offer this subject as the first of a series to be considered: "Sharting, Simple Incontinence Or Passive Aggression?" I mean what would you expect from a clown with the name of Captain Ca-Ca?
