Help with solumedrol?

Hi all,

Never posted before--am currently hospitalized for uc symptoms that are out of control (25+ movements a day with cramps and blood). Had been on Rowasa enemas and asacol 800mg 3 times a day.

Have been here two days. First day was labwork, stool samples, abdominal catscan, etc. Had 25+ stools first day. Second day the morning was the same, but then got a dose of solumedrol at 12 noon. Now 9 hours later I still have not had a single bowel movement! But rather than being happy about it, I'm very nervous that the solumedrol has worked *too well* and now I'm stopped up! Has anyone had solumedrol work this well? When did you get your next bowel movement? It just seems so odd to have my new *normal* change so drastically, and I'm worried about it...only been diagnosed with UC since October during my second pregnancy, and flared really badly after delivery (am 7 weeks postpartum).

Can anyone offer any advice?

Its just prednisone after the liver breaks it down, saves you a step, ready to go cortisol.

Look at it like a fresh chance to get healthy but you cant go forward with an IV stuck in your arm so I would be thankful its working this time and make a plan. Mine was from the hospital bed just like you, to only eat food you could get 500 years ago. I ate the hospital out of salmon and plain yogurt in just days. When I ate the garbage they told me to eat I did not get better. I went zero sugar for 2 months but I was out the door 1 week later picking up my trial VSL#3DS and left all that bleeding behind with my new 'plan'.

Keep researching on that laptop.
