Colonoscopy tomorrow...

I've been reading past threads about this procedure and I am confused. Will they be able to tell me tomorrow if I have UC or will I have to wait a week or so?

It depends I think on the routine. In my case, my GI did the colonoscopy and I had the results immediately. But since my GI always takes tissue samples to look for the any abnormalities, it took a few weeks to get the result of those.
On the other hand, on this forum are people who had to wait after the colonoscopy for the appointment with the GI for the diagnosis.
Maybe ask your performing doctor about it, before the procedure.

Hard to say, really depends on what they see whether it is conclusive or not. If it is conclusive I imagine your GI will want to start you on some treatment right away.
And keep in mind if you are sedated you won't remember anything they tell you anyway! That's a pet peeve of mine, that my GI goes over the procedure with me just after it and I can't remember a thing. I do have my wife or a parent there to remember it for me, but I like to hear it myself from the doctors mouth so nothing gets lost in translation.

They'll be able to definitely tell you if your colon is inflammed and/or ulcerated, and if it is, that will for sure point towards UC/Crohn's. However, the results of the biopsy will be necessary to determine for sure, as other things can cause inflammation.

Hm, if it is UC and signs of inflammation I wonder what else they would put me on? I'm already on pred/lialda. Oh, and this prep drink I just finished is making me feel like I have to puke more than use the bathroom... Normal? Just finished the first bottle and only went once so far

The prep is gross, normal to gag. And sometimes it takes a while for things to start moving.

I couldn't finish the first bottle. If I drank anymore I was gonna hurl. It will kick in...believe me.

Yep .. It kicked in alright. They want me to use some enema in the morning before I go in. That should be fun. Will I be able to eat right away when I'm done? All I can think about is food (dang prednisone).

I ate right away afterwards, Machina, but some people say they need to wait. I would advise eating lightly right afterwards ... not pigging out on a big greasy pizza like I did! LOL.
