Here are some toxicology studies on surfactants if anyone is interested. Yes they can be absorbed throught the skin in low amounts. In all the chronic testing they did even with ingestion,
they seem pretty safe.
But what we are looking for, is a trigger in people who are geneitacally predisposed, like us.
If this has any validity, only use ivory soap, for hand washing and bathing, and hair washing if possible. Wear gloves when doing dishes with detergent in the sink, double rinse washed clothes, switch to no SLS toothpaste,or toothpaste with no surfactant, avoid foods with CMC and too many emulsifiers. Watch your supplemenets for CMC. Mouth washes with surfactants.
I guess there are more routes for contamination, but these I would think are the big ones.
I know this stuff is boring to many, but some of us are looking for the cause of UC besides genetics. If we can find the cause
perhaps we can fix the disease. Most of the research doc's have gone off into the maze of the immune cascade, which may
produce some treatments. Butt.
