edbar, i will probably not do the leg climbing thing for long today. it made my legs fall asleep and was not comfortable at all. i was just hoping that gravity would push everything back up my colon. how long did it take your son to notice a positive difference?
Try the mattress way that I mentioned earlier. It works well.
When we started FT my son had just been 3 weeks in hospital when he was on IV pred and vanco. So he was pretty much under control with his flare. He was on high dose of oral pred also when we went home. We continued him on the pred during FT and we did a very slow wean. Almost immediately his poos looked like mine and they were a mix of formed and mushy. Before we started FT his poos were already getting hard and pellety (constipated) which was usually a bad sign for him. So I think if your poo is looking and smelling like your donor that's a good sign. The blood gradually reduced with FT over time and probably after 3 weeks it was down to only very small traces of blood. The mucus took a bit longer and even now we see some now and again (mind you I see mucus in my own stool when mixing). His energy greatly improved after maybe 2-3 weeks.
So don't expect too many immediate results; after all your colon has been inflamed and ulcerated for a long time so you can imagine how long it will take to heal. Just keep doing the enemas.
I noticed that you were having 8 BMs a day before. There is one protocol for FT that recommends taking prednisone while doing FTs since this will control the symptoms and reduce the number of BMs. I'm not suggesting you go on pred but it is one thing worth considering if you find your BMs aren't reducing or your symptoms aren't improving.
I wouldn't add turmuric to the enema. You really don't know what that does to the good bacteria you are trying colonize.
