Dr. referrals. If this post is an issue, deleting it it fine.
Anywho,
I live in the Greater Cincinnati area and I'm looking to switch G.I. doctors. My current Dr. (who will not be named), is not proactive in recommending treatments, supplements, alternative ideas, etc.. for my Ulcerative Colitis. EVERYTHING I have been doing has been at MY recommendation with some hesitation on his part. He is very BIG on saying I should get a colostomy, which is a BIG NO NO considering with everything I'm doing I get very very close to remission. So, I'm looking for someone in the Greater Cincinnati area who is "patient friendly" and doesn't constantly say "you should just get a colostomy". I've heard a lot of things about probiotics and even fecal transplants helping UC patients and I want to exhaust all possibilities before I do any surgery at all. The smallest amount of prednisone in conjunction with Remicade staves off any flare I have. I know pred and remi together are not good but this guy had me on 6mp and remi which has wild side effects including a funky incurable lymphoma that flies through the body like wild fire. Dude won't even write me a 2 week taper of pred which cost me $7 at Costco. I guess he wants me to flare and have surgery. HELP....
If anyone can recommend a good G.I. doctor (perhaps one you're happy with), I'd appreciate it very much.
Be well, E...
