Waiting for Humiria to be approved

Hi! I've been waiting to be approved for Humira. It's been about 2 weeks. I think something went wrong with communication between GI office and Insurance. Took care of that problem, should be getting the meds this week. It was a big decision to go on Humira for me. Flare was making my life crazy. Had a hard time getting out of the house in the morning to go to work. I'm a Massage Therapist, can't work from the bathroom lol. It seems in the 2 weeks that I've been waiting for the meds, my flare seems to have gotten better. Not in remission but better. Now I'm kind of nervous to start the meds.Flare has been going on for about a year. All meds have been the same. Any thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks, Faith

Refuse to take Prednisone again!

It was between Pred or Humira. I hate Prednisone! Prednisone also reduces your immune system. Not a lot of choices left.

How long has Humira been approved for ulcerative colitis? Remicade works ok but is not getting me into remission. This would be something I would try ASAP.

My GI recommended I start Humira but I decided against it but I hope everything works out for you

Don't be nervous. Can your GI's nurse help you start while the Dr is on vacation? I started noticing results very quickly after starting Humira. I actually had to have some CT scans or xrays a couple days after staring Humira because I stopped "going" for about 10 days straight but then everything got back to normal again. I guess my body wasn't used to formed stools so it got a little backed up.
