Does yogurt good or bad for ulcerative colitis?

I think yogurt is good as long as you can tolerate it. I used to not be able to have dairy products, but since I have been in remission I eat yogurt at least once a week. It just depends on what you can tolerate.

I tolerate it just fine and can even eat it during flares. It doesn't affect me one way or the other. So, for me at least, I wouldn't say it is good or bad for UC. I like it and I it doesn't affect me at all so I eat it.

My experience is exactly like Girlygirl's. My gut hated yogurt (and a lot of other foods) when flaring but since healing it is a real plus.
I eat my own homemade SCD 24 hr.yogurt plus buy quality store-bought, only unsweetened. Then I add honey or fruit to sweeten a little.

I was eating it every day but it was giving me gas and I felt bloated so I stopped.

For me it depends on the brand. Some seemed to help while others gave me horrible bloating and gas. Read the labels and make sure it doesn't contain anything that you know bothers you.

I used to eat a lot of yogurt and I didn't notice any improvement in my condition. I do enjoy it and it's good for you so I continue to eat it.

Seems to me it's important to to try to incorporate some kind of fermented foods into one's diet. Yogurt, if tolerated (and if it's great quality) should be helpful.
I can't have it yet.

I live on homemade goat milk yogurt fermented for 24 hours. It has no lactose, and the goat milk is very healing for the gut... This is for the SCD diet btw!!!

I eat yogurt mixed with chia seeds occasionally.
Can't eat everyday because of possible gas/bloating.

I think eating plain yogurt is best. Most yogurts are sweetened artificially, with HFCS or other fillers/junk that cause the stomach aches and probably have little to any beneficial bacteria. Even in plain yogurt there is usually some natural dairy sugar, and sugar is the #1 causal for inflammation.
Adding your own fruit, condiments is always the best option IMO.

Friends headache gonna kill me, i am at remission since March, 2012, and i am not using any medications and treatment. i am not eating read meat , my diet contains fruits, a lot of rice and soup, since then my weight is increased.
In your opinion what is the reason behind my headache?

Greek yogurt is my breakfast everyday. I like Fage the best, but look for one without a lot of sugar.
You can add your own fruit, nuts, granola etc., whatever you can tolerate.

Most yogurt you'll find in the grocery store is crap -- filled with high fructose corn syrup, sugar and other crap that's awful for you. I don't think dairy is good for anyone's health in general.
