Has anyone tried Cannabis for UC?

I understand that cannabis is supposed to be helpful for crohn's so it got me wondering.

I know of people who have had it prescribed medically for dealing with the pain and nausea and stressed caused by Chron's, but I don't believe it necessarily will do anything in terms of calming down the driving factors behing the disease. It certainly won't put you into remission if thats what you're asking.

I'm sure this post will be taken down very shortly, but technically marijuana is a legitimate medication in certain places (Canada!) and I would argue more so a medicine than an "illegal substance" period.... But meh, could be just me.

It helps for nausea with me, probably not much else flare-wise.

Medicinal marijuana is legal in many States in the US and they will prescribe it for UC. If you have trouble with cramps, nausea, appetite, anxiety and the like, it can really help. It can even slow down frequency of BMs sometimes. Definitely won't put you into remission, but can help cope with the symptoms.

I'm in a state where it's legally available. I'm not a recreational drug user and I'm going to chat with my primary care physician about it in a couple of weeks. :-)
