Chia seeds are great, BUT you have to drink lots of water with them as they have the capacity to take the water from your body otherwise, and then it will cause cramping.
Did you drink any water with the chia seeds?
Kittyboo makes a good point, probiotics are key.
Personally, I would recommend VSL #3.
There are many other natural treatments you could add as well:
1) slippery elm powder
2) LDN - low dose naltrexone
3) have you had your vit. d levels checked via blood work?
