iv steroids for 2 days and still no improvement

Iv been on iv steroids for 2 days but no improvement
Is that normal? I'm a bit worried .
The nurses said it takes 24 hours to kick in
It's been more then 24 hours now and I'm still flared up
I'm still getting mild grade fevers.

Hi there,

When I was in the hospital in February, I also didn't respond to the IV steroids right away. The doc was surprised and said they usually see patients respond within 24-48 hours. So I was pretty nervous that for whatever reason I was not going to respond. But somewhere between day 3 and 4 things really started to turn around for me (in a good way). Nowhere near perfect, but a lot better. Hopefully it will turn around for you two in the next few days!

Took me 2-1/2 weeks to respond after my second big attack and then within a year I was tapering off oral pred into a ten year med free total remission (a long gone remission now, but it was real and it was fabulous).

Omg thinking of having 10 year remission would be better then winning the lotto.

Well I have my xray back from my upper abdominal and that's where the pain is and they said its full of poop!!!
I'm not sure what causes that and they didn't tell me either
They are just going to give me some fluids to try and flush me out.
so I'm glad its just poop and nothing else sinister.
