Just wondering if it makes any difference if I take my pentasa by just swallowing the capsules whole or
opening them up and taking them with something like applesauce? I started out doing the latter because A) I had never swallowed a pill before the dx in June and B) they were the scary-looking 500 mgs, ha. I'm good with swallowing pills now, for the most part, but I still kinda prefer to take them in applesauce, especially larger pills/capsules or "floaters." Embarrasing, I know.
I started wondering because I've been having more blood than usual the last couple days and was just wondering if, however insignificant, the outer coatings of meds cause more irritation? Should I be more concerned about
their best chance of absorption? If so, I'm guessing whole capsules would make their way farther into the digestive system, right? And I guess this goes for other capsules, like probiotics, which I think are
open-able, if that's a word.
