Prednisone freakout

3 weeks @ 40 mg / day = I am going to kill something

add to that the kitchen renovation = I am going to kill something SOON

The litter box is in the bedroom because the cats are locked in there all day, so there's litter on the floor, and there's litter in their water dish but the water dish is a fountain so it's a pain in the rear to clean, especially when the kitchen sink is missing, so the whole thing is just awful.

EVERY little thing is getting on my last nerve

I asked them to strap the bookcases to the wall while they're in there and they said they would so I moved ALL the kitchen stuff that was in front of the bookcases to a different side of the living room, so now my table is blocked and there's basically no room to move in my apartment. So far they haven't strapped the bookcases so I can't move the stuff back out of the way.

My refrigerator and oven are in my foyer, the rug & curio cabinet from the foyer are in the living room, the rocking chair from the living room is in the bedroom, and my electric toothbrush is running out of charge.

This was supposed to be finished today. Now they're saying Tuesday. If it's not done on Tuesday, I'm going to talk to my landlord about decreased rent for this month since despite his assurances I can't cook or clean anything while they're working.

Yes, my refrigerator is plugged in. No, that doesn't mean I can cook.

And how much FUN is it to wash dishes in the BATHROOM SINK

The thing that made me giggle was-"and my electric toothbrush is running out of charge".

But I must say with all that going on I would want to kill someone and I'm not even on pred.

Every time I try to write an explanation of the electric toothbrush I start to cry LOL

My bathroom doesn't have an electrical outlet ever since the old light fixture was replaced (here's a picture of the old light fixture, you can see the plug is in the bottom and you can see why it needed to be replaced: http://flic.kr/p/9kdsG6 ). Don't ask me why the landlord refused to put a new outlet in the bathroom. It's crazy.

So my toothbrush charges in the kitchen. Now, for some unknown reason -- not entirely unwelcome but absolutely mystifying -- my landlord has decided to give me new cabinets, counters, and floor in the kitchen (probably NO ELECTRICAL OUTLETS THOUGH)

I really have such a pretty home, especially since I had it painted in April. But now it's FILTHY.

WHICH I'D BETTER DO PRETTY EARLY SINCE THE WORKMEN ARE COMING AT 9 TOMORROW MORNING.

That's the time they gave AFTER I asked if they could start later on Saturday.

I've already told my boss that I'm going to take a day or two off when the kitchen is done. Not to POINT ANY FINGERS but this flare started the day he left for vacation and I kept it a total secret from him while he was gone so that he wouldn't worry.

I just kept telling myself that when he got back, I could take a chill day. Then my landlord emailed me a week ago to tell me they were going to start renovations the next Monday. So I'm hanging on by the skin of my teeth, trying to stay chipper.

I just keep telling myself that the new kitchen will be worth it.

I have a good pal who went NUTS on prednisone and ripped her deck furniture up and threw it over
the balcony (it was heavy too), then went into the house and threw all of her and her husbands clothes
out of the closets and then ripped the doors off the closets.
She won't ever take that again!!
I felt like a caged animal on it and hope to god I never take it again.
You are not crazy and you are not alone.

mary a., it definitely made me crazy, too. i had insomnia the entire time i was on it and i remember one night, i tore everything off the walls in my room and then rearranged my furniture. this was at like 3 am and my mom came in asking what the hell was going on. i really didn't have an explanation other than "i hate stuff on my walls. im not friends with the people in these pictures anymore. my furniture looks horrible."

looking back, im sad i tore up and threw away all of my old momentos.

Wow guys! Pred sounds "fun"... Hope I don't end up on that one! I'm new here, freaking out, and you made me smile Janey, thank you... Jealous of the margharitas! I wish I could have a drink too, but it makes my tummy worse, one beer and it's stabbing pain central - isn't it ironic? When you are stressed about your illness and worried and strung out and REALLY need a long drink... You can't have one because of your illness! Love it xxx P.S. Ok this thread made me feel way better I have been psycho since I have been taking pred! I am really nice one minute and then someone says something to me I don't like and I start yelling and making a scene haha. I yell with anyone around too it just comes out of me. I feel like a crazy person!! And not to mention the appetite increase. And then doing scd and trying to not devour cookies everywhere. Pred is crazy!!!

Yea...prednisone makes me pissy too. I figure if I were ever on anabolic steroids, I'd have a hariy back and would have gone off long ago. My wife's a saint...

I LOVE pancakes for dinner...with bacon. Yummm!

ya, a toothbrush in the bathroom is pretty disgusting anyway - mine just might go in the kitchen soon - besides, it's one of those relics .... a manual - it can go anywhere -

i say enjoy the prednisone while you can - you'll never experience anything like it again -
