or does it drive you crazy when your significant other decides to just come into the bathroom when you are occupying it?

My two daughters and I seem to have our best 'group meetings' in the W/C.

Hubby can't get in, though I wish he could, he's in a wheelchair.

But hey, your Significant Other should abide by your wishes. nono

my sister also does this. her excuse is "im going somewhere and need to straighten my hair, brush my teeth, put on pounds of makeup, etc." we share a bathroom upstairs between our bedrooms so i don't really have a choice of kicking her out once i'm on the can. i don't know why she'd wanna smell my crap anyways.

my mom respects my space but it drives me nuts when she asks "are you ok?" if i've been in there longer than 5 minutes. as all of you know, sometimes 5 minutes is not gonna cut it.

Firstly, my husband would never come in with me having a bm, nor I to go in when he is. But, my bathroom isn't big enough for two. During bms, never...can't get in anyway since the door would be closed and the toilet is next to the door, meaning sitting on it makes it impossible to open the door.

On occasion, I've had an emergency while my husband was in the tub (we do "european hand showers"..sitting down shower process), so I open the vanity door to make me feel more private.

Yes, having only one bathroom is frustrating, but it's worked for 33 years.

It's a personal preference, obviously.

My cat as well...but she demands the attention. I don't like the distraction, however, so I sometimes ignore the banging, meowing and paws under the door..heehee.

Quincy...Our cat goes crazy if I shut the bathroom door without him in there! He sits on the sink and stares at me.

Bananagirl...Hubby also does that "are you ok" thing EVERY time I come out of the bathroom.

My husband didn't think anything about walking in with the phone saying that someone wants to talk to me! That pushed me over the edge! Don't think he will ever do that again! I can't seem to get him to understand that pooping is not a spectator sport!

I use to dream of having my own closet added to my house... now I would kill for a private bathroom!

lol, old house designs. I can see that. I wonder when they made that, they didn't think it through. Like, lets see what happens if someone sits on a can and the door needs to open.

I think my dog shows off to me when I walk her. She lays the nicest poops. I am jealous. I told her one day that if I could do one like that, I'd take a picture and make it my Christmas card!

no dogs or cats in the loo with me...just two kids (age 3 and 1). i haven't had privacy in the bathroom for over 3 years. my 3 yr old thinks that noisy, splashy poops are normal and he even brings in a book and sits on the stool beside me. he is starting to look at me strangely as i study my toilet paper after wiping and after i study the toilet bowl looking for color, consistency and any sign of blood. at least he is not asking me questions...yet!

My two girls - 5 & 2 are always in there with me. The older one always wants to check the toilet to see if I'm okay. While I miss the privacy, we have had some good conversations in there!

SomeDude..well, yes...old house design, and get this...the bathroom is right in line with the front door, so if we had a window in that door (as the previous owners did), all could be seen if the bathroom door wasn't closed. Stupid designers for sure.

LOL, generally no, my hubby won't go out of his way to come in to the bathroom and bother me, he knows better LOL..but honestly, either my cat or my daughter's cat senses when I'm gonna make a run for the can and sure enough for the most part one of them will actually start running in front of me to the bathroom to make sure they get in there with me...I find this so odd...at first when it was just my cat (before daughters cat moved in with us) I thought mine was the only one that did this...then I figured daughters cat learned this from mine...now I see many cats in general like to keep us company in the bathroom...how odd LOL.

BTW, I would just crap myself constantly if we only had one bathroom...thank goodness we have 3.5 bathrooms, especially since my adult children prefer living at home still.

My hubby is a gem. Even now that I've been in remission for a long time, he never goes in "my" bathroom if I'm awake. He goes into the master suite bath. The only time he ever walked in on me was when I passed out; that was followed by a lecture about my not keeping him updated well enough on how I was doing. He wants to know when he needs to hover, lol.

Mine won't come in if the door is closed but he also has the habit of asking if I'm ok or if I need something.

Good to know that it isn't just my cats that like to come into the bathroom to investigate. We have 5 in my parents house and 1 in the poolhouse where I live. And yeah, my mom is always asking if I'm ok/how I'm doing when I go to the bathroom. There's no such thing as privacy around here, ha.
