The basic recognitions of life where people will get into HEATED arguments are religion and politics. Because people will always say something that is offensive to someone else. This thread has already touched on both.
---- being offensive and being offended are two entirely different cats - just because someone is offended by something i say, doesn't mean that what i said was offensive -
---- this thread began as a way for one person to share what helps them through the tough things in life - if it was hostess ding-dongs, would that be offensive, and would we still be here - i suppose if you didn't believe in the existence of dd's or like the taste of them, well then i guess you could be offended -
---- maybe they could find a ding-dong forum to share -
What it seems that many are missing is that anything that's posted here is open to others' opinions, either supportive or not supportive. We all have the right to comment regardless. So if you put it out there, expect to have it read and commented on.
---- i don't recall anyone saying anything even close to contradicting that -
It's nice for some, not so nice for others.....
If we get into heated arguments about the basics such as food and medications, what makes anyone think this is a safe topic?
---- i'm not sure anyone has a problem with debating a subject .... but this wasn't a question of whether having a relationship with Jesus/God would help fight this illness - it was one person sharing with others -
---- you're the one who's saying " take this somewhere else " -
And soystud? lighten up??? one never will about this topic.
---- well, you're probably right -
---- so which is it - respectful debate, or cry foul over being offended and say " don't make me read this, it offends me " ?
