30gm steroids and starting to flare

So I'v been made to taper my steroids real quickly
So I can go on the trial drug.
50 gm for 5 days
37.5 gm for 5 days
30 mg for 7 days
25 mg for 7 days
20 mg and stay on that for the trial drug

Right now I'm on 30mg and I'm starting to flare
I'm so scared that if Im flaring they won't let me on the trial

I'm so emotional and sick and tired of having no life im really desperate to get on this trial drug .

those are some big jumps you're doing. 50- 37.5- 30
woah,
can you step down by 5mg a day or every 2 days.

wouldnt you being in a flare make you a perfect patient for a trial.
there be no use trailing it on some1 in remission.

i got the impression they want me on the drug asap and they need me to be on 20mg steroids sooner then later

they said they want me be in a stable non flare condition , and then once im on the trial drug they will taper me off the steroids

linahawk, what trial is this? i read about all the trials in the world and i think i know exactly the one you are talking about.

I am curious what trial it is too... I am hoping you will be able to get in regardless of whether you're flared up. It doesn't make sense to do a trial on people who are feeling well, how would that prove the drug effective? I got denied from a trial a few years ago for being too healthy. My condition turned almost overnight and I was no longer a candidate.

man i have a crappy month, iv spent one week in hospital and im on my second flu for the month

Did you read the study thoroughly? Usually it explains the type of candidates they want. Sometimes it's mild, other times it's moderate or severe. I don't think they will take you out of the trial for UC. You will probably have to wait until your back in good health and healed from your flu though.

I am getting ready to do the same trial and have been told they want to be having some symptoms.  They wanted me below 30mg pred before they would start.  I have tapered completely off and am feeling better but I am not  completely out of my flare.  I'm not quite sure I understand the logic of them wanting you to be symptom free.  This trial is the last step before surgery for me.
