Lodi,
Yeah, you're right, as soon as I posted it, I realized how funny that seemed... grass-fed farmer, haha.
But I am glad you understood what I meant, lol.
For me the twice daily whey protein shakes were for several reasons:
1) it ensured i got some basic nutrition which encompassed the whole amino acid profile, the important minerals and vitamins (i was adding my liquid minerals and vitmains to my shakes). But also, as OldMike has posted some important studies, whey protein is important to us UCers precisely because of certain amino acids it contains.
2) convenience for sure. For me the early am and mid am shakes meant 2 less meals that needed to be cooked, in which i was assured of healthy nutrition.
I spoke with the farmer, and he told me his goat whey tastes "tangy" because it's fermented, and he suggested using it in the blender together with organic cucumbers, organic honey - he told me this is a very cooling drink in the summer. I don't know, it's not quite what i had in mind, considering my mercola shakes delivered this wonderfully chocolate flavoured drink...
But I'm going to try it (next order is in 2 weeks), and if it really tastes terrible, I might pick up some "chocolate flavoring" to see if it helps.
