Do you take your Pred during colonoscopy prep?

I usually skip my meds the night of the prep; for me it's just too harsh to take them after doing the prep. Perhaps take your pred in the morning, before the prep? It's not like you're going to be getting any sleep anyway with that dosing schedule! lol

     I was on so many meds when I suffered with UP it isn't even funny.  The only med I made sure to take in the morning was my blood pressure because my BP was sooooooo high when on prednisone.  I think I took the prednisone after the colonoscopy but I did not stop the prednisone.  I was also on diabetes medication (prednisone induced), Colazal and 6MP.  I took those meds following the colonoscopy too.

I have never had any problems at all taking pred- even high dose pred- during the scope prep. Even the clear chicken broth that I drink, and clear jellos that I eat, and am allowed to have the day before the scope, seem to provide enough of a buffer to prevent dyspepsia. I also have taken tylenol gelcaps if I get a hunger headache during the prep (if I dont nip such a headache in the bud, I get nausea and end up throwing up the prep, which defeats the whole purpose). Never once has the pred or tylenol ever reslted in any cloudiness in the gut during the scope- my prep has always been labelled as "excellent."

Thanks! So I guess I'm mainly concerned because I read in another thread on here that some people had weird reactions when they went off their Pred. That's why I was worried about skipping a dose. But it's starting to sound like I should play it safe and skip it tomorrow night. Argh. Maybe my doctor will call me tomorrow since he'll be in.

definately dont skip a dose, wait till you get some food 1st.

Don't skip any doses of pred especially if you are still on 20mg. The consequences of skipping far out way the consequences of not skipping IMHO
