Aasacol

Since I have upped my asascol to 12 pills, now my stools are very loose but didnt have blood for 2 days except for a little bit today.  I was having blood everyday.  Is this normal to have loose stools when before I was having a hard time going?

I haven't had Asacol in years, but I was always on 4 pills 3x a day. I do recall having loose stools most of the time, but they were more solid and formed on that medication than they have been on Lialda. Sorry, I was no help. I think it just comes with the meds/disease. I went 6 years without a formed BM until I got pregnant and had my first run in with constipation.

Why have you upped the oral instead of the rectal to retention enemas?

Where exactly is your UC located, and what exactly were your symptoms before upping the Asacol?  When did you up them?

quicy - i just upped them to 12 less than a week ago.  rowasa and canasa do nothing for me.  I am on cortifoam.  My colitis doesnt even go up to the sigmoid its just all lower.  Before I upped the asacol.  it was blood and hard to go to the bathroom.  Scope was done in May, inflammation at the rectum.
