Has anyone here had a camera endoscopy?

So, it looks like I don't have UC, but my bum is still leaking and there's till blood in my stool, and after two colonoscopies and endoscopies, my doctor still doesn't know why, so he wants me to do a camera endoscopy, where you swallow the little pill with the camera in it.

I have a bad gag reflex and usually have a hard time swallowing pills, but my doctor showed me the pill, and I think I can get it down. My doc told me that if I can't, they'll have to shove it down my throat endoscopically.

So, has anyone here had this done? I know I'll be walking around with electrodes and some sort of recording device attached me all day. At work. Yay.

My daughter swallowed the pill with no issues. I don't know, I'd try to swallow it instead of having to go under for the endoscope.

Yeah they'll only let you drink it with a sip and you'll be thristy because of the restrictions from the day before. If you think you can't swallow it and don't mind being put under then you might as well schedule the OR and have them deal with it. The electrodes etc are not too bad. Good luck.

Well, I had the tube through the throat with a camera. I had it twice with no sedative lol.
