Getting Frustrated, Iron Issues Again!

So earlier this year my Ferratin levels were down to 6...I got 6 weeks of iron infusions. After they were done, they rechecked me about a month later...My levels only went up to 10, so they scheduled me for another 6 weeks of iron. I just got rechecked this week to see what it went up to and it's down to 7! I'm scheduled for another 6 weeks again! This is getting stupid. My hemoglobin is ok at 14.7 but I just can't seem to get my iron up. Am I supposed to get iron infusions now every week till it gets back to normal? If pure iron infusions aren't bringing it up, I don't know what else will. She said normal levels are 100 but she would be happy if I can get up to 50. Anyone else have this issue? Is bleeding causing my iron to go down and just not effecting my hemoglobin?

How bizarre that it would go down again... Are you on corticosteroids to stop the bleeding?

I find that I respond better to intramuscular iron injections rather than IV iron, don't know why. Can you try another route of administration, even if it's oral?

no I'm not on steroids at the moment. I'm virtually not seeing much if any blood at all. Unless I'm slowly bleeding inside and I'm just not passing any that I can see. I had the hematologist send the results to my GI who will look at them on Monday. Are there other parts of the body that if not "working" properly can affect iron stores? I'm not sure about my B12 ranges...can't remember when the last time I've had those checked. My hemoglobin has been good so far and just a couple months ago it was 15.7, now 14.7.
