Don't worry I'm sure we all had problems with the darn things at the start.
I use the salofalk enemas and of all I have used I think they are the best. My tips would be as follows.
Get a book or ipad etc and settle down on your left side. You want to try and stay in that position for as long as you can once it is in to help things settle.
Go to the toilet before you start
Pre-squeeze the enemas to remove air - think like a nurse with a syringe would do. Air up your backside is not going to help you not to cramp.
Stick the bottle on a radiator for a few mins before you start to get it to body temp - less thermal shock
Once you are up and running go real slow. If you feel cramping breathe deeply and try and ride it out. Don't put more in while you feel crampy.
If you failed to hold the whole thing one night, try say half the enema the next - and build night by night to hold more and more. Even getting it in and crapping the whole thing out ten minutes later is better than nothing. If it all does come out then its sometimes not a bad idea to have another crack at it - it may be easier to hold after a 'clear out'
Good luck my friend.
