hi all, i am having bowel noises, they sound very similar to stomach digestion sounds, however it's for me in the bowel not stomach. Sometimes it's air, but most often not. When others around me hear it, they assume it is my stomach making noises.

Yes. I hear it most when lying in bed at night. Normal.

That is fairly normal for a UC'r. All people have bowel noises, ours are just louder. Doctors often listen for bowel noises, even in "normal" people.

Yep, happens to me every day after lunch. Tried Beano and Gas-X. Didn't work.

I have UC and my bowel noises are just as loud as my gf's. I hear hers at night. Sometimes louder than me and she has no bowel issues at all. My mum has them too.

The bowel noises that sound like "stomach digestion" are your intestines digesting your food.

Yup, it's one of the ways I know I'm still flaring to some extent. When I'm in a full remission, I don't get those bowel noises.

Very familiar with those noises. People think you must be starving or have horrible gas, when neither is the case. It can be very loud and theres no stopping it. I say my colon is angry. When in remission, I don't have this issue.

I agree with cherchezlafemme, I get those noises when I am flaring but not in remission.  My noises are relegated to the rectum though.  I think it is very small pockets of gas due to inflamation.  It sounds/ feels like/ reminds me of coffee percolating in the old Maxwell House commercial.  It also reminds me of a pinball ricocheting around in there.

I get them too when I am not feeling 100%. It can be embarrassing.
