We learned an interesting thing at the doctor this morning for my son's blood work. Apparently having high triglycerides can cause itchiness. I have itching too without hives and with hives. I am allergic to dust mites. But I also have high triglycerides. Wonder if that could be part of my problem as well as my son's. Waiting on his blood work to see if that is even a factor.

Isn't your son a bit young to have that issue? That's interesting tho.

But, no...mine are fine btw.

He is but he's a 6ft 230 pound young man. And his eating isn't the best so it wouldn't surprise me. I had high cholesterol fairly young and my triglycerides are real high even though I've gotten my cholesterol down. The doctor said its hereditary too. Both my parents have high cholesterol so he is probably doomed.

I am soon to have my 4th infusion of Remicade. The last week or so, I can't stop itching. My arms, and torso. I carry around a long handled brush everywhere I go.  I am always putting on Cortisaid cream.  It's driving me crazy.

I looked it up on Google, and there were others on Remicade with the "itches".  One was from this very Colitis board.

I feel your pain(itch). :)

I will mention it to them when I go or my next treatment.

This may be slightly OT but I know from reading and especially from my own experience that fish oil definitely does lower triglycerides. Along with cutting back on sugar intake. Try it, you will be surprised.

I decided to not take my 6mp last night to see if this was the issue. My GI has been thinking of taking me off it anyway. My skin still has that tingling feeling but perhaps that is from itching for 3 weeks but the itchies have settled. It barely even woke me up last night where for the past 3 weeks, it has been waking me every night. Coincidence perhaps?

But I'm going to call my GI today to see what he says.

Babe-I am going to try it. I took it one other time and got a horrible stomach ache. Of course I didn't know there was burpless and non burpless so to make a long story short I now bought the burpless and will be giving it a second try.

Sherry-I don't believe in coincidence. LOL Hope the itchies stay settled. :)

corn is my biggest itch-inducer - rice not quite as much -

i'm a blondie so my skin is naturally more sensitive anyway -

staying away from all grains makes me a much happier guy -
