Whenever I eat more I poop more. Whenever I eat less I poop less. Does anyone know the procedure for applying for the Nobel prize? And, PLEASE, don't leak out my discovery until after I have already won the prize.

If only that were true. I however remember days when I only drank liquids and still ran to the toilet many, many times a day. Angry colon didn't want to deal with anything, even liquids.
Your comment however reminds me that some people seek to control their symptoms by withholding food which is dangerous in the long run. I love food too much to ever do this but I know others do this through necessity or fear. UC is a bear to deal with and it took me a looong time to tame that bear.
Let's wish someone
does win the Nobel
with a cure for UC. They did it for ulcers, it can be done for UC too.

If someone would have told me before UC that you can go to the bathroom 10 times per day without having the flu I would have never believed them in a million years. It just wasn't possible. Part of me still thinks it can't be possible. Unfortunately, I now know that it is. Glad I could make a few people smile today.

LOL...in general it takes 3 days for what you eat today to be completely out of your system...I don't eat alot in a day and I eat really small amounts and yet I can poop like I've been in every food eating contest under the sun.

When I am flaring doesn't matter if I barely eat, I still run to the bathroom constantly. But when in remission if I limit food because I'm traveling or have some big appointment then it may even constipate me.

I've noticed that correlation too, garylouisville. But some days when I was flaring I thought my colon must be either manufacturing it out of the air or digesting itself. I kept waiting for it to suck my eyballs in.
Funny thread!

I run to the toilet even if I don't eat at all but it will be like 6x instead of 20x. I can't just stop eating cold turkey and expect the next day to be decreased toilet trips either, I have to decrease gradually and eat very light for a long period of time and with the lowered intake of food, I have less toilet trips. It doesn't make me any less sick however. It also doesn't help me to recover, it just lessens the number of times I go to the bathroom. I usually eat a PBJ or something in the evening when I eat light and that can send me to the bathroom many times but at least I can make it through the day of work without crapping myself. I lived like that for about
a year - I don't recommend it but it was that or be unable to work.
