VerM - Thanks for stopping in and letting people know it works. I'm so glad to hear about
another person who has been helped by this. It is a bit rough-going in the beginning, but it's so worth it.
Sami127 - As long as you get the amount you need each day, you should be fine. You don't have to go overboard with it and eat it all the time. Doing that might make you really tired of it. Since it's something you'll need to eat on an ongoing basis, you want to make sure you always enjoy it.
ChrissySoul - I know it doesn't make much sense, so you may have make a leap of faith. I promise you it worked for me. As I mentioned before, it doesn't immediately make you feel better. You'll probably have cramping and feel worse for a couple weeks if you're currently in a flare, but then you'll start to see changes. You won't be able to find documentation on why this is helpful in a flare, because there is none. For the most part, doctors do not connect UC with food (which I find utterly absurd).
All I can tell you is that I haven't been to my gastro or taken any medication in three years. I spent one year of my life being really sick. The doctor visits, medicines, and two hospital stays cost me four thousand dollars for that one year. I haven't spent a dime on this stupid disease since I went into remisison, and I don't have any side effects from taking harsh medications. I have control over my life again.
