Wow! So many similarities yet so many differences . . .
Only 2 or 3 days a week do I have BM's. Usually every 4 days. If I drink coffee or consume any caffeine, the BM's usually begin. (Like the donut comment, sometimes that caffeine helps me to go.) The meds have reduced the blood to only every now and then, thankfully.
So weird, the car thing . . . Seems like it isn't mind over matter (or I could control it), but when driving half an hour to work, the car route is determined by where the closest restroom's location might be. For the past year or so, 6 - 7 times but lately about 10 trips. Like others with the big C side, it is difficult to begin with flat not formed stools. Straining like having a baby (I've had 5 with similar pain--especially left-side and burning rectal pain).
Of course, NO,NO, No eating especially when leaving the house until I get where I'm going and know that the BR is close by. Once the BR trips begin, it's so unpredictable and takes hours and multiple trips! Toward the final visits, coffee-grounds-looking or cocounut looking splattery stools and mucos indicates I'm close to finishing. The final couple of visits are mucos and urgency wtihout much produced. TMI! Sorry!
When I began the slippery elm and metamucil, I actually had a few days with formed stools and a few regular BM's without the multiple visits! Even a BM or 2 after eating regular meals. I'm hoping that means with time, I will get better and better and be able to go back to teaching. I miss working and sure need my income back!
I think this was a really informative thread that helps to see what others' mornings are like.
