if you lived here, in the United States, you might think differently about Obama and this comes from a person who grew up in the former Soviet Union: free education (including colleges) and free medical treatments.

I live in Ohio, the battleground state. Last time I did vote for Obama but not this time. The West Central Ohio, where I live, struggles, the job situation is very bad (unemplyment in our area about 10%).
Obama had 4 years, I did not see any hope and change. Just debt growing, a lot of talking but nothing is actually done. My husband works in a hospital and said that Obamacare put a lot of financial stress on the hospitals and they lay off a lot of people in order to be able to keep their doors open.
I am not thrilled about Romney but between Obama and Romney, I choose Romney. At least he is a businessman.

Yup and I'm from Romania under the Soviet regime, communism. Canada has free healthcare and I will support ANY IDEA that comes close to free healthcare.

For example: I don't care about Fidel Castro or his brother, but at least Cuba has free healthcare.

Free healthcare to me is paramount. I thought that even before getting U.C. so my ideas on this will never change, heh.

Obamacare does not provide a free healthcare, it forces people to get a health insurance from the place you work at, even if is not a full coverage insurance and then supplement with another one. What kind of garbage is that? If we could get what Canad has it is a completely different story.
As for the women voting for Obama. I would like to know what kind of women think that abortions at the 8-9 months of pregnancy is OK!? Obama is supporting that.
As for the religion,I personally do not know what Obama's faith is. Watch Documentary film '2016: Obama's America'. Romney with his Mormonism is less scary to me.

On abortion, no guy has any right to decide for a woman whether she can or cannot have an abortion (not a committee of male republicans in the US house of representatives, or a panel of all male preachers). It is a personal choice, a very difficult choice that a woman has to make. The supreme court has upheld a woman's right to choose, and that issue was settled in the 1960's. Why it has been brought up again is simply ridiculous. While I understand abortion goes against certain people's religious beliefs, thankfully the USA has a separation of church and state.

The Affordable Care Act (aka obamacare) is a baby step in the right direction, it has some small reforms that may lower cost over a long time, and it's goal is to expand the number of people who have insurance. I think we should have a single-payer, government run program like Canada. Obamacare has a small fee for those who opt out of health insurance, and that fee is small enough that it is probably cheaper than one month's premium of health insurance.

i'll be voting and am excited that the election will be over. i get 20 political calls a day! the commercials are getting old, too.

This is a tough election for me. I'm still kind of undecided but am leaning toward Obama for selfish reasons only. I will probably vote for Obama due to Obamacare and hope that for the good of the country Romney will be elected. Obamacare is good for me but bad for the country as a whole. Companies accross the country are sitting on hoards of money and not hiring because they are saving up to help pay for Obamacare expenses and the upcoming taxes associated with it. This has taken away hundreds of thousands of jobs that could have been if it weren't for Obamacare. The doctor at my allergist's office told me they were having to spend over $300,000 on new equipment to comply with new regulations due to Obamacare. These costs will be passed on to their patients which in turn will increase health insurance premiums and make me pay more for copays and deductibles. Many companies are dropping health insurance for their employees because it will be cheaper to pay the penalties than to provide health insurance for their workers. For those that happens to the worker will then be forced to buy their own insurance or pay a penalty, assuming they earn a good enough wage. Many other companies are lessening their health care benefits by increasing deductibles and copays in order to help defer the costs of Obamacare. Many providers are strongly considering not accepting Medicare or Medicaid because the payments from the government will not be enough to make it worth accepting these patients anymore. Obamacare is a mixed bag of tricks. It will be good for many of us here on this site, assuming you don't lose your job or can't get one due to the tight job market (partially caused by Obamacare) or your insurance is downsized and you wind up having to pay more for higher deductibles and copays or you lose the insurance you did have altogether because your employer would rather pay the penalty than to continue offering you health insurance. This is one of those things where you have to be careful what you wish for because you might get it.

A main point to "Obama Care" is that it DOES cover pre-existing unlike most insurances today.

One thing you do not win at in a discussion is politics and religion. I don't even allow it in my clinic as it hurts my colon, lol. Anyway since it was brought up..... I will not vote for Obama. Voted for him last time. I really am not thrilled about Romney either. You have a right to healthcare, but I'll just say good luck finding a doctor if Obamacare sticks. People have no clue what we deal with now just dealing with insurance companies. Mention Medicare Audit to any doctor and watch his eyes. We just got audited this summer and you would be floored to hear what their standard practice is in auditing. Even though I have dealt with the pre-existing condition issue (yes it sucks), it will do me no good to have that law in place if I have no job, nor clinic because of the rest of the laws that come with it.

As far as religion goes it is part of this countries foundation and has been part of previous presidencies whether you like it or not. If you don't like it take all those dollar bills out of your back pocket and burn them. They do say "In God We Trust." I personally won't base a vote on religion nor abortion, I'll base it on who has a better chance of turning the next 4 years around. I won't vote down a ticket completely either.... I value the process more than that. There are dems I will vote for and reps I will also vote for due to state specific issues. WV has been driven in to the ground over last 4 years. It's typically a democratic state, but not this election. Why should people care. The people in southern WV help keep your lights on.

Whatever your view is get out and express it at the ballot box. That's all I gotta say about that.
