I just finished the Twilight movies *OT*

I never watched those before until now. I was playing poker with the guys and a g/f of one dude was watching some behind the scenes. I asked if those were any good and the dude said they were not bad. I usually like vampire stuff, but the ratings for these movies in IMDB are awful, so I avoided them for a long time.

Anyways, this past weekend, I decided to watch them all. Now I'm all up to date. The movies aren't THAT bad, I find them decent. Some parts are BORING, but some parts are enjoyable. There is some nice scenery also.

You might ask how can this tie in the UC world. Well, it's very simple. If you become a vampire you won't get any diseases (confirmed by Tom Cruise in Interview with a vampire). So, if your a vampire, you can't have U.C.

So there you go.

i remember the twilight dvd came out when i was dating my college boyfriend. he was my lab partner so i totally was obsessed with the "bella and edward" connection. anyway, i ended up breaking up with him the day the dvd came out. the next day at school, we were out in the parking lot when he pulls the dvd out of his bookbag and says "you know, i got you this because you love twilight. i was gonna give it to you yesterday, but you dumped me. i thought about returning it, but buying it was embarassing enough."

I didn't buy it or rented it. I torrented it. *cough, cough*

I can't be seen renting twilight lol. I have enough embarrassment with U.C. I found it difficult enough to rent brokeback mountain when I was healthy.... lol

I've read the first 3 books. Thought they were very high school girl-ish. I have seen the first movie and I thought the movie was better than the book. Some parts like you said were boring but other parts were good.

Soooo...how was Brokeback Mountain? Never saw it.

It's a good movie. Good scenery also, but with much better acting. There's Heath Ledger in the movie. He played The Joker in the Dark Knight.

I love Heath Ledger even though I haven't seen The Dark Knight. I loved him in The Patriot and A Knight's Tale.

Wow, you haven't see the dark knight. It's an amazing movie. One of my favorites. It's freaking good.

I'd like to be on a remote mountain with Heath Ledger! Hello, hot! I'll have to see the Dark Knight. I loved The Patriot. Love American history. Going to Colonial Williamsburg next week....one of my favorite places to visit especially this time of year with the Christmas decorations.

Somedude, maybe UC is giving you a softer side. Are you going for the 50 Shades series next?

After what I've been through, and the worse stuff many of you have been through, I'll take drinking a little blood and eternal life over the UC!!

I didn't think they were that bad - I thought the books were SLOW but the film adaptation is pretty good.

I'm really looking forward to The Hobbit. They did a great job with The Lord of the Rings and I'm hoping The Hobbit is just as good.

I'm more of a book person than a movie person, but it makes me happy when the film adaptations work. Going to the movies while in a flare...that's a bit of a dicey situation!

I did go see The Book of Mormon last Friday, made it through ok and it was hilarious!

Somedude- I have thought of this and discussed it at length w/ my husband.  I would def. become a vampire...get rid of this UC, never have disease, be strong, young etc...  Alright so I have to drink a little blood and stuff--I'll get over it!  My husband laughs though that I would be willing to lose my soul and avoid sun but won't try smoking a few cigarettes...lol.

Not a Twilight fan but I'll respect the Twilight faithful, as I hope they respect my faves - The Hunger Games and Harry Potter.

But those that are Twilight fans, the end is almost near and I remember when my daughter who is 22, who grew up watching HP, went to see the final HP movie, she and her friends were so sad, they just didn't want to face not waiting in line for another HP movie at midnight.

So there are going to be some very sad Twilight fans I'm guessing (just that it's over, I do hope the final movie is all they hope it would be).

Somedude - you should check out The Hunger Games. It's so good.

Am I the only female who thinks that Robert Pattison is actually a little homely ... really, I don't see the attraction at all. And I have no desire to read or watch the Twilight series ...

I don't like him either, not my type, sort of metrosexual or something. Not that I am against that type, just not my ideal boyfriend.

I should have put haha after my comment! I haven't read the series, but it seems to be dominating women readers right now (and maybe men). They are supposedly making the trilogy into movies and was the fasted selling paperback worldwide surpassing Harry Potter.

I don't really like sci-fi so not sure I'd like the Twilight series....so many friends have tried to get me to read it. Should we call ourselves Team UC? Remember when everything was Team Edward or Team Jacob? Lol!

I read the first book, and IMO it was nothing like the first movie. More like a really good love story with a minimal reference to Edward Cullen being a vampire. I loved it.

Robert Pattison resembles Daniel Radcliffe...different sort of rugged looks (which is "in" it seems).
I haven't seen any of the Twilight movies.
Hunger Games I enjoyed very much.
Haven't yet seen part 2 of the last HP.

Dark Knight was good...but HL's acting of the Joker was most extreme.

Quincy, they did a great job with the second half of HP7. A few little things were changed but overall true to the book.

If people liked Hunger Games the movie, I sooooo recommend reading the trilogy. The movie was good but the book is great. You lose a lot of the nuances with the movie, expecially with the characters from the Capital.

As a library tech, I love that so many of the top movies of the past five years have been based on books.

Ahh i remember the days when i was OBSESSED with twilight!! it came out the time when i was 3rd yr university and me and my friend went and watched the first one. We totally loved it and i went and bought the books. Then i watched the 2nd and 3rd with hubby. I loved the second one but hated the 3rd. i thought the acting and the movie wasn't up to scratch. I haven't watched the last one.

Maybe i should get back into it...uhh the days of twilight!

I love Harry Potter movies and all the books. I still hold out hope for another book or movie. ;)

I've read the Hunger Games books. I liked them more then the Twilight series. Haven't seen the movie.

I also am not into Robert Pattison. I like the guy who plays Jacob (sorry don't know his name) better especially with the long hair. Yes I loved the 80's. LOL

I've also read the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. :)

Lets see if I can cover all the movies here:

Twilight - Never see or read any of them, probably has more to do with me being a guy, and being all mocho about not seeing them ;)

Hunger Games - Really liked the movie, so much so that I read all three books, very good IMO.

50 Shades - yes I read them, my wife got them all and loved them, and talked me into it. They were ok, but definittly written for a woman. They have made things more interesting in my married life though lol.

Harry Potter - Love the movies, watched them all so many times. Still need to read the books, but will be doing that some day..

Dark Night - Fantastic movie, loved Heath as the Joker, thought it was a bad choice at first, but boy did he pull it off.

Broke Back Mountain - Ya I passed on that one, no real interest.

Ok think I coverd it all :)

I seen the first and second of the Twilight series but I'm waiting until the last one comes out on DVD to buy all them or rent them. I agree though, the books were a lot better then the movies. Same thing goes for HG, I didn't really care for the movie but I LOVED the book.
