What lead to you having surgery, Christine? Was it just a personal choice or did your symptoms get out of control so that it was the only option left?
I'm 29, so I really don't want to even think about
having surgery... and I had heard that UP is the easiest of all the types of Colitis to control and rarely leads to surgery.
...and I was diagnosed with flexi-sigmoidoscopy. My GI doesn't think it's anywhere else and saw no other signs past the rectum, describing my bowel as "perfectly healthy and the perfect colouration" past where the proctitis was. Which was a weird compliment.
